"Paulo Henriques Britto is a poet, educator and translator from Rio de Janeiro. Known as one of Brazil’s principal translators of British and American literature, he received the National Library Foundation’s prize for his 1995 translation of E.L. Doctorow’s Waterworks. He has translated around 100 books and has published six books of poetry and one of short stories. He currently teaches translation and creative writing to undergraduates and poetry translation and literature in the graduate school at PUC-Rio.
